| 512 Mb SD ram |
[07 Nov 2009|11:31pm] |
Have an oldish computer on which I would like to install Mandriva Linux 2010.0.
Currently I have 755.2 MB of ram on it; and with a Pentium III (Coppermine) it is enough to run it - in fact I am typing this using a Madriva 2010.0 live cd. But, it needs just a bit more ram to handle some of the big programs.
Anyone know where I can get two more - or at least one - 512 MB SD ram sticks?
Called the computer shops - which I'll do again - but hoping someone here might have some or know where I might find some.
Thanks

| Buying furniture overseas |
[07 Nov 2009|10:17am] |
Hi Everyone - This is a bit of a strange one.
I'm going to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kuching) and Singapore in January/February on holiday. It's my 21st birthday soon and my father wants me to buy a Glory Box whilst over there and send home to Brisbane.
I know this is a long shot but does Malaysia/Singapore even sell these? Is anyone here from Singapore/Mayalsia or knows lots about it? I'm totally at a loss as to what to do.

| Introducing.... |
[06 Nov 2009|02:21pm] |
I guess my username gives it away, but I do in fact love the Bruins more than life itself. I've been around these parts under different usernames before, but I'm officially saying hello. My name is Steph. I am 22. I have been a Bruins fan for a solid 20 years. Growing up, I was also into the Red Wings and a few other teams, but I find myself unable to give a crap about anyone but the Bruins now. My favorite Bruins right now are Tim Thomas and Patrice Bergeron...typical, I know. Thomas is the savoir the team needed - a solid goaltender through the season and into the playoffs. He has passion that I love and modesty that brings tears to my eyes everytime I think of him winning that Vezina...Bergeron has been a favorite of mine since his rookie season, and only proves to be more awesome with the the passage of time.
 ( I bring pictuhs ) I love my team

Hi Brisneylanders :-)
Looking for some good bargains here... does anyone know of any designer clearance sales around town? Or at least where I could find some reasonably-priced flats (under $40) or torn skinny jeans (under $80)?

So, the wedding was lovely. I'm really glad I went, despite the trip wiping me out for the next 3 days. Finally starting to get back on my feet again now.
Brisbane was also lovely, despite the inescapable road works and the traffic. The weather was utter perfection and I've been feeling the chill since I got back to Hobart. The jacarandas were coming to the end of their bloom, with splashes of purple decorating the city, and the air was fragrant with early summer. It was really very hard to leave, especially saying goodbye to friends! Massive thanks to the lovely bride for fighting through airport traffic on a Friday afternoon to collect me, and to drspleen and P for collecting me on Saturday afternoon, feeding me curry, plying me with a puppy and driving me back to the airport far too early on Sunday.
Anyway, on with the photos. I didn't take many, and I certainly didn't take any good ones. Far too much effort to focus on composition and exposure when standing, walking and talking are a challenge. The bride and groom were as beautiful as ever, the bride suitably stunning, and the "goom" successfully wrangled (I was in charge of making sure he had everything he needed [rings included], the house was neat and tidy, and we all got there without falling apart). I did my official duty and autographed all the essential paperwork to make everything legal and thoroughly enjoyed watching two of my best friends looking so happy. =o)
I can't wait to go home for Christmas.

Hey guys, due to unforseen circumstances a good friend of mine is leaving our fair city to return to India on the 14th of this month. As such, he has some furniture he no longer needs.
- 1 kelvinator fridge (fullsize) - 1 set of lounges (2 2-seaters and a 1-seater lounge) - 1 bed with both a base and a mattress.
$600 for the lot, take it all now (Sunnybank Hills) and will throw in an extra mattress free of charge.

| Rubber ducky, you're the one... |
[05 Nov 2009|02:15pm] |
Hey Brisneylanders, where can I find Bud Rubber Ducks (the small ones, not the massive ones) in the city? I know they used to stock them in a little shop in the Wintergarden, but it's been taken over by somebody else now. The only other place I've seen them is Mod Cons in the Valley, but I'm only doing a quick city trip tomorrow and probably won't get time to go there.
Thanks!

Brisneyland, help me with a potentially embarrassing situation:
One of the other girls at my work has invited me to a 'Tickle Your Fancy' party at her house. The description say 'lingerie and confidential sex tips'. For anyone who might have gone to one of these parties previously...
...exactly how bawdy are we talking here? Are there just catalogues of bras and stuff to buy, or is this a situation where my overweight self will be expected to go off and squeeze into some lacy contraption before a discussion on oral sex with penis jokes?
